Yum! Tried this out during Clayton restaurant week, and that deal could not be beat! I had a very tasty ramen bowl, the rangoon dip, and a dessert. Main dish and app were both phenomenal. Service was a bit rushed but the place was packed because of the special week! Beautiful interior, i'll be back!

I see so many reviews of this restaurant, I decided to give it a try myself. I made a reservation but upon arrival it was empty so I was seated immediately despite my appointed time , I just like to be prepared in case it was packed. Parking I wasn't too keen on either , after circling around a couple of times I finally was able to snag a spot, but I wish it was a private lot or definite area to park to at least know when you leave your vehicle it won't be ticketed. Building was well lit, spacious and open. Staff were friendly. Anna was our server , she was helpful and friendly. My sister and I shared the volcano rice which was served to us at a table with egg frying on the side. I wish it was spicier , presentation was nice . Popcorn chicken and spring rolls were very good. We shared an Jinro strawberry alcohol beverage which was a different taste that I wasn't sure if I liked or not. It was bland but strong . Pricing was reasonable, restroom was in need of tlc. I tried , I conquered now I'm moving on .

Nice spot. We were greeted and seated quickly. The decor is a well done, modem Asian decor. Our server was very nice. She did start out by letting us know she is in training and pretty new. We ordered the sea cucumber dumpling appetizer. Really tasty and interesting. We also got the tempura vegetable appetizer. Really good. Proper crisp, not greasy and good selection of veggies I got the spicy tonkatso ramen. Not as spicy as I like but the broth and flavors were excellent. I would get this again. My wife got the volcano fried rice. I like the presentation with the egg seared at the table. Very cool. The ingredients, for the most part, are tasty and interesting. With the egg, the peanuts also added great flavor and texture. What the menu doesn't say is that the dominant flavor profile is sweetness. I prefer savory in this dish. The chicken in the dish seemed to have too much breading. It also was kind of soft, rather than crisp. This i would not get again. As for the service, it did not appear she was getting much training and the delivery showed. My sense is they are probably replacing staff that left and just need to get up to speed with the new people. We'll be back.

Went to Jinzen during Clayton restaurant week and it was such a lovely evening! The deal they had was amazing and allowed us to try a lot of things on the menu. The volcano rice is delicious as well as the ramen. I would skip dessert if I ever came back though. Also- it was such a lively restaurant and really liked how bright it was. Would definitely come back!

First time but not the last! Food was amazing. The volcano rice seemed bizarre- until I tasted it. Yummy! We were there for a birthday and they brought out a free dessert! Small dining area but we'll organized and the waitress was so nice and patient with our group. I don't normally enjoy restaurants but this will be back!

What a beautiful restaurant, definitely would recommend! If you are looking for Asian Cuisine then you must visit Jinzen. The food is absolutely fabulous!!! The Volcano Fried Rice is amazing and my favorite dish of all! We also had Mentaiko Udon, the noodles and cream sauce were delicious and full of flavor, we will definitely order it again. Try the Signature Chicken Skewers with Teriyaki Sauce for an appetizer and do not skip on desert! The Vanilla Cake was the perfect ending! Delicate layers of wafer cake with wonderful vanilla creme. The food at Jinzen is superb and the staff was so inviting and friendly.

I wanted to explore a new restaurant, so I decided to come to Jinzen, an asian fusion restaurant. The interior is decorated so cutely, including the table setup which had cute salt and pepper shakers, an a very pretty chopstick set. My party and I ordered the garlic steak bites, squid karage, signature tonkotsu ramen, and strawberry cake. The steak bites came on a stone plate with a flame lit underneath it and were sweet and chewy. The squid was fried nicely and seasoned well. The ramen broth was delicious and the pork slices were tender and easy to eat. Finally, the strawberry cake was fluffy and the cake frosting was nice and airy. Our service was excellent and our waiter was very attentive. The food came out quickly and the waiter came back frequently to check on how we were doing. This was a pleasant experience and I look forward to coming back.

Very tasty food. Would rate a 4 in Chicago but deserving of 5 in STL. Definitely fusion. Not traditional Korean but still hits. Don't skip the Naengmyeon, translucent noodles made primarily with buckwheat served in an ice cold broth with hard boiled egg and a few slices each of beef, Asian pear, and cabbage . You'll see ice cubes in the broth on arrival like they do at the best Naengmyeon houses. Also great was the volcano fried rice, a large tasty portion served on a hot plate onto which egg is poured and quickly cooked. The plate crisps the rice touching it similar to Dolsot bibimbop. This adds additional flavor to the dish while keeping it warm. This seemed to be the popular item there. Spicy miso ramen was solid. Dumplings are fine. Black pepper steak bites were ok, tasty but fatty. They are served on a hot stone with a dozen garlic cloves that were outstanding, sweet and with a potato-like consistency. They are not hot and spicy. Our group finished them all. Add a bottle of wine and a couple of soju and you have a delicious dinner that everyone will enjoy!

This is a cute little spot in Clayton, Missouri that is great for lunch. The customer service was really good. We ordered the volcano fried rice, the garlic steak bites, and the lobster rangoon. ~Lobster rangoon- sweet as expected, serving temperature was lukewarm. Was pretty tasty. ~Garlic steak bites- I chose these because there were several reviews that said that they were a must have. Although there were garlic cloves served on the hot stone with the chicken, the actual garlic in the sauce could not be tasted. Also, although the steak bites were served on a hot stone, the serving temperature was lukewarm, like they'd been sitting. I was a bit disappointed because I expected a bigger flavor. ~Volcano fried rice- They cook the egg on the stone around the fried rice then mix it in the rice after cooked. This rice is sweet, and has a milder taste, despite the name. This was my favorite of the three, and there is plenty to take home, so there is definitely enough the share. All in all, wasn't super impressed with what I ate. However, the Ramen did catch my eye so I will return to try that.
